Material Handler

Description:

CEVA Logistics, a top 5 global third-party logistics (3PL) provider operating in over 170 countries with more than 110,000 employees, is seeking a skilled Material Handler/Operator II to join their Melrose Park warehouse. CEVA Logistics provides contract logistics and air, ocean, ground, and finished vehicle transport solutions, emphasizing employee growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.

As a Material Handler/Operator II, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and providing work direction to staff while performing complex operational tasks.

• Operating forklifts to handle heavy and oversized items.

• Coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products.

• Sorting and placing materials according to type, size, style, color, or product code.

• Operating hand tools for packaging, assembling, or tearing down crates and bales.

• Completing documentation to ensure inventory accuracy and successful receiving or delivery of goods.

• Overseeing warehouse maintenance tasks and addressing operational concerns.

• Preparing and assembling orders, picking and counting materials, and moving items between operations or trucks using manual or labor equipment.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• At least 5 years of warehousing or related logistics experience.

• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 3–6 months).

• Valid state-issued driver’s license preferred.

• Proficiency in hand and power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and warehouse equipment.

• Basic proficiency in Internet, web-based, and job-specific software.

• Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize, assign work, and provide training.

• Team-oriented with excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
