Material Handler

 

Description:

This position is responsible for leading and performing all duties and the daily operational activities of the Material Operations & Planning. This position requires the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment. A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times. Serve as the day-to-day interface with local operational customers. Duties include material ordering from Alliance suppliers and from other internal storerooms as necessary. Receiving activities which include unload and loading of trucks and receipt of materials both stock and non-stock. Put away activities, order filling, physically fill and stage orders for field construction crews. Process material returns/credits from the field. Keep work area cleaned up as necessary. Provide excellent customer service for local management and field employees. Participate in all safety and training programs.

Requirements
 

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be committed to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules
  • Physical demands are heavy at times, must be able to lift and maneuver up to 70 pounds
  • Must reside within 20 mile radius of assigned service center
  • Requires participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions
  • Forklift experience or certification
  • Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 and obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A within the first 6 months of hire
  • CDL holders are subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
