Description:
MACOM is seeking an entry level mechanical engineer/designer to support our growing RF pallet and module product lines. MACOM is developing modules and systems for use in aerospace and defense industries, telecommunication industries, photonics, and space communication. This ever-growing modules business demands expertise with the highest levels of integration, compact designs, exquisite thermal management, and the lightest form factors.
The design engineer will be responsible for mechanical housing designs through the entire lifecycle of a product, starting from a paper design all the way through manufacturing, hardware integration with electrical subsystems, system test, thermal analysis, vibration testing and qualification, and final delivery to customer.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in CAD/CAM, stress analysis, thermal analysis.Previous experience with designing products, fixtures, housings, for RF systems highly desirable.
- Hands-on problem solving with experience creating and assembling hardware for experimentation, and design feasibility studies.
- Able to use and be proficient in 3D SolidWorks mechanical engineering software, with experience using thermal and stress simulation add-ins is a plus.
- Ability to learn in a production environment working with new types of RF test equipment and software.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.

- Mature, highly responsible, a good team player with good presentation skills.
- Creative execution of ideas into mechanical designs.

- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
