DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Advancement Team at the National Air and Space Museum seeks experienced and creative candidates to fill the position of Membership Program Manager to oversee its direct response fundraising operations. The National Air and Space Society membership program and the Wall of Honor programs both raise unrestricted funds for the Museum. The Membership Program Manager will be responsible for partnering with department leadership to develop and implement strategies for growth in membership and revenue, as well as member stewardship. Responsibilities include management of direct marketing program; event planning and execution; collaboration and counsel with Smithsonian Co-op programs; ensuring delivery of member benefits; and oversight of the various vendors that support the direct response program.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS


Qualified applicants will have a minimum of five years of progressive fundraising experience, including developing membership and engagement strategies, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, and utilizing a fundraising database. Must successfully demonstrate strong writing and communications skills, an ability to successfully manage multiple deadlines, superior organizational skills, supervisory experience, and a thirst for learning. Experience in a large, complex non-profit organization preferred. Occasional work during the evenings and weekends will be necessary.
