Modeling Engineering Intern

 

Description:

As a Soil and Crop Modeling Engineering Intern, you will play a hands-on role in simulating and validating agricultural equipment while developing physics-based models for virtual crops and fields. This work will directly contribute to improving soil and crop modeling accuracy and advancing CNH’s product development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities may include:
 

  • Supporting the development of physics models for virtual crop and soil interactions
  • Performing laboratory characterization tests to measure crop physical and mechanical properties (stems, seeds, leaves)
  • Processing measurement data and conducting DEM calibration simulations to improve model accuracy
  • Validating models by comparing predictions with industrial-scale rig test results
  • Assisting in the simulation of soil, crop, and machinery interactions using DEM, CFD, MBD, and SYSM tools
  • Preparing a final report and presentation summarizing model development, validation results, and recommendations for use by crop flow modeling and design engineers

Preferred Qualifications Candidates may be pursuing an Associates, Technical, Bachelor’s, or Post-graduate degree in the following majors or a related field: Agricultural Engineering, Biosystem Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering
