Description:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting core network infrastructure devices, including troubleshooting and quick fixes, on-site support, and providing requirements to drive improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide Network Engineering support for the design, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and operation of an evolving network architecture. Provide cross-discipline training for and mentoring of all team personnel.
- Manage network architecture to include operational and security related updates and changes.
- Lead the deployment planning and coordination of network system upgrades at various field sites, both CONUS and OCONUS as required.
- Interface with Tier 2 to assist with coordination and issue escalation as appropriate.
- Provide briefings and regular status updates to Program leadership on issues
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field with 8-15 years of relevant experience.
- Active and current Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience of Juniper SSR architecture and configuration.
- Expertise in SD-WAN technologies and implementation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco IOS/IOS-XE operating systems.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking.
- Familiarity with network automation tools.
- Proven track record in SD-Wan solutions.
- Familiarity with WAN optimizing.
- Understanding and implementing QoS.
- Proficient knowledge of network engineering, network architecture, and network automation.
- Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
