Operations Manager

Description:

You’ll own daily operations for our Houston site: a licensed Texas pharmacy plus an attached warehouse for packaging, inventory, and shipping. You’ll work alongside our pharmacist in charge (PIC) to oversee compounding running smoothly and compliantly. You’ll also run the warehouse side so orders go out accurately and on time. This is a hands-on role: some days you’ll be on the compounding floor, some days on a forklift, and most days solving whatever problem comes up next.

What you’ll do

  • Pharmacy operations: Manage daily workflow, staffing, and scheduling for pharmacy technicians, in partnership with the PIC.
  • Compounding support: Coordinate non-sterile compounding production under the PIC’s direction. That includes batch scheduling, documentation, beyond-use dating records, equipment cleaning and calibration logs, and keeping the space inspection-ready for the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and USP .
  • Supplies: Manage inventory for APIs, compounding supplies, packaging, and OTC devices. That covers receiving, cycle counts, reorders, and supplier follow-up.
  • Fulfillment: Oversee the full process from finished prescription to sealed package to FedEx/UPS pickup, including cold-chain shipments.
  • Warehouse: Set up and maintain the layout, racking, and storage systems as we scale from hundreds to thousands of orders per day.
  • Equipment: Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, for receiving and putaway.
  • Metrics: Track and report turnaround time, shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, and on-time rate. Spot problems early and fix them.
  • SOPs and training: Write and maintain SOPs for both pharmacy and warehouse workflows, and train new team members.
  • Facility: Serve as the on-site point of contact for building issues, carriers, vendors, and our San Francisco operations team.

  • What you bring

    • Active Texas pharmacy technician registration (or eligibility to transfer one).
    • Hands-on experience with non-sterile compounding (capsules, creams, suspensions, troches) and its documentation.
    • At least 2 years in a lead, supervisor, or manager role.
    • Strong organizational skills and comfort running several workflows at once.
    • Comfort with Excel or Google Sheets, and with learning new pharmacy and shipping software quickly.
    • Willingness to operate a forklift. We’ll provide OSHA forklift certification if you don’t already have it.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to be on your feet for much of the day.
