Operations Specialist

Zayo, a leading communications infrastructure provider with a 141,000-mile network across North America and Europe, is seeking a Regional OSP Project Specialist. This role is responsible for leading fiber connectivity initiatives, managing outside plant (OSP) construction projects, coordinating vendors, ensuring timely customer installations, and serving as a single point of contact for clients post-sale. The position requires end-to-end project ownership, including planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

This is a remote position open to candidates located in Pennsylvania or West Virginia, requiring occasional site visits, vendor coordination, and municipality meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage construction vendors for expedited splicing and deployment of OSP facilities.

• Lead on-call duty for responding to network outages and emergency restoration activities.

• Oversee permitting processes, rights-of-way (ROW), encroachment approvals, and building access agreements.

• Collaborate with internal teams to plan and implement fiber network solutions within budget and timelines.

• Direct and coordinate field surveys, engineering reviews, and construction oversight.

• Manage procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements.

• Oversee bid processes, budgets, purchase orders, project documentation, and service orders via Salesforce.

• Ensure customer satisfaction through timely updates, reporting, and client meetings.

• Support design and deployment of commercial and carrier fiber networks, data center connectivity, and backbone infrastructure builds.

• Facilitate communication between jurisdictions, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• At least 7 years of experience in the telecommunications industry with strong exposure to fiber optics, OSP, and project management.

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing OSP construction projects and large-scale capital builds.

• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, routing, switching, and IP protocols.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Earth, AutoCAD, and project tracking tools such as Salesforce.

• Ability to interpret and work from construction documents.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites and meetings as required.

• Strong negotiation, project planning, and vendor management skills.

• Flexible availability for on-call rotation to support network restoration.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Monthly salary: USD 5091 – 7833 (annual USD 61100 – 94000).
