Power System Engineer

 

Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power System Studies Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy to join our team. As a Power System Studies Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive power system studies including Load Flow Analysis, Reactive Power Study, Short Circuit Study, Arc Flash Study, Harmonics Study, Insulation Coordination Study, Grounding Study and other project related studies using industry standard softwares like SKM,ETAP, CDEGS, ASPEN and others. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems or an individual with 1-3 years of relevant experience who is enthusiastic about Utility scale Solar, Wind and Battery Storage Projects.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Perform detailed power system studies including but not limited to Load Flow Analysis, Reactive Power Study, Short Circuit Study, Arc Flash Study, Harmonics Study, Insulation Coordination Study, Grounding Study and other project related studies using industry standard softwares like SKM,ETAP, CDEGS, ASPEN and others.

- Evaluate system performance under various operating conditions and contingencies to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.

- Assist in the design and implementation of renewable energy projects, including grid integration studies, resource assessments and Substation design

- Collaborate with project teams to provide technical support and expertise during the planning, design, and execution phases of renewable energy projects.

- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation summarizing study findings, recommendations and conclusions,

- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to power system analysis, renewable energy technologies, and grid integration.

 

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with coursework in power systems. A Master's degree is a plus.

- Knowledge of power system fundamentals, including transmission, distribution, and generation concepts, with a strong interest in renewable energy technologies.

- Familiarity with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM,PowerWorld, Aspen, CDEGS or similar tools is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

- Prior internship or work experience in power system studies, utilities, renewable energy, or related industries is advantageous.
