Pricing Analyst

Description:

MSR Technology Group is hiring a Pricing & Rating Analyst for a full-time, on-site position based in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will bring 8–12 years of experience and strong domain knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, particularly in auto lines of business (LOB), with demonstrated ability in translating business needs into rating logic and pricing tool configuration.

This role involves analyzing legacy rating systems, identifying transformation logic, writing pseudo code for pricing rules, configuring new rating platforms, and supporting system migration activities. A strong understanding of insurance rating methodologies and the ability to bridge the gap between business and technology is essential. Candidates with proficiency in Python or R and hands-on experience with pricing configuration tools will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply insurance domain expertise (P&C/Auto) to analyze existing rating systems and define logic for transition to new platforms.

• Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications and pseudo code.

• Analyze and mine legacy systems to extract all existing pricing rules and ensure complete logic capture during migration.

• Configure and implement pricing tools for new insurance products and lines of business.

• Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues to ensure performance and efficiency.

• Use mathematical and analytical skills to relate business rules with technical implementation.

• Coordinate effectively with business stakeholders, IT teams, and offshore counterparts for smooth execution.

• Document configuration, logic, and data conversion processes for traceability and compliance.

• Utilize tools such as JIRA, JWM, or Rally for task tracking and status updates.

• Provide weekly progress reports highlighting risks, impediments, and mitigation strategies.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong understanding of P&C insurance pricing and rating

• Familiarity with rating methodologies, pricing tool configuration, and insurance product analysis

• Experience using JIRA, JWM, or Rally for project tracking

• Ability to write pseudo code or transformation logic

• Hands-on with Python or R (preferred)

• Familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus
