Project Design Engineer

Description:

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Project Design Engineer for a 6+ month contract with a client based in Phoenix, AZ. This role will involve planning, estimating, baselining, and executing complex turbofan engine design and aircraft integration efforts. The engineer must be ready to take technical leadership and manage teams effectively in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design and integration of turbofan engine modules with aircraft platforms

• Interface with aircraft OEMs and other key project stakeholders

• Execute and manage engineering projects using Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Cost Account Management, and Agile tools like Jira

• Apply systems engineering and requirements-based methodologies to ensure technical and regulatory compliance

• Oversee all stages of project life cycle from concept to execution

Required Qualifications:

• 10–15+ years of engineering experience in engine design, particularly turbofan or fan modules

• Strong exposure to aircraft/propulsion engine certification and testing

• Proven leadership and program management skills with ability to work independently

• Familiarity with EVMS, Cost Account Management, and Agile project tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations (includes U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents)

• Local to Phoenix, AZ or willing to relocate on short notice

Preferred Experience:

• Hands-on work with aircraft OEMs or experience managing integration with aerospace manufacturing partners

• Certification experience involving FAA or military standards
