Description:
Position Summary
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for independently conducting advanced laboratory testing of veterinary biologicals in compliance with strict government and company guidelines. The role requires working with various laboratory instruments, maintaining detailed documentation, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing using aseptic techniques in accordance with regulations and guidelines
- Perform advanced laboratory procedures independently under the guidance of the area lead and department manager
- Maintain compliance with GMP, SOPs, and all safety and company policies
- Accurately enter test results into QC tracking systems and cross-check records
- Maintain sequential analysis of testing standards within assigned areas
- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Perform advanced mathematical calculations, conversions, and formulations
- Maintain concurrent records including charts, logbooks, and documentation
- Report unusual or non-routine occurrences during testing activities
- Clean and maintain work areas including floors, walls, tables, and equipment
- Accumulate, label, and manage hazardous, universal, and/or infectious waste
Qualifications
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of laboratory experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline
Experience | Skills | Knowledge
Required:
- Experience with analytical instrumentation
- Microscopic analysis and biological assays
- Aseptic technique and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Strong analytical aptitude and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- SAP experience or knowledge
- LIMS experience (Environmental Monitoring)
