Description:
Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Radiology Technician (RAD Tech) to join its urgent care team in Seneca, South Carolina. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a dynamic opportunity for a skilled radiologic technologist to work in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The technician will play a vital role in delivering timely and high-quality radiographic services under provider orders and within scope of practice, while also contributing to overall patient care.
The Radiology Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic X-ray imaging, maintaining imaging safety and accuracy, and assisting in various clinical and administrative functions. This role combines radiologic expertise with patient-centered care and teamwork, supporting urgent care operations and promoting health outcomes.
Perform radiographic examinations with proper patient positioning, immobilization, and radiation protection.
Select appropriate imaging parameters and ensure radiation safety for patients and staff.
Set up and adjust equipment and assist patients with professionalism and safety.
Document all patient encounters accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Collect and process patient specimens and conduct point-of-care lab tests as needed.
Assist in infection control practices, maintaining sterile technique to prevent contamination.
Perform clinical support tasks such as patient registration, triage, check-in/check-out, and supply management.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions and participate in routine maintenance.
Support other duties such as scribing and responding to patient needs during peak hours or as directed by management.
Adapt schedule or travel to nearby facilities when required for patient care continuity.
Education:
Associate’s degree from an ARRT-accredited institution (Preferred)
Licensing & Certifications:
ARRT Certification – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
State Licensure – Preferred unless mandated by local regulations
BLS – Basic Life Support certification (Required before direct patient contact; preferred at hire)
1+ years of hands-on experience in radiologic safety and patient care
Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
Experience using EPIC Electronic Health Records
Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
One year of medical assisting experience (Preferred)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in medical terminology
Skilled in operating standard radiographic and office equipment
Accurate diagnostic imaging and documentation
Ability to assist with specimen collection and lab processing

High attention to detail and ability to multitask
