Real Estate Paralegal

J. Katz & Partners, Inc. is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious law firm to fill a Real Estate Paralegal position in its highly respected commercial real estate practice. This hybrid role, based in either New York City or Boston, offers a rare opportunity to step into a substantive and high-visibility legal function, supporting complex commercial real estate transactions across all phases—from diligence to post-closing.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 6 years of specialized real estate paralegal experience, preferably gained at a law firm. This role is tailored for professionals who excel in managing title, survey, and zoning due diligence, and who are proficient in legal drafting and client coordination. This position also offers frequent attorney and client interaction, and a chance to contribute to a market-leading real estate legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review title commitments and ALTA/NSPS surveys

• Draft and negotiate title-related documents including objection letters, estoppel certificates, subordination agreements, and conveyance documents

• Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and zoning consultants to ensure smooth transaction flow

• Support all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from due diligence through closing and post-closing

• Advise attorneys and clients on title, survey, and zoning standards and compliance

• Draft and prepare leases and lease amendments in accordance with transactional needs

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 6+ years of real estate paralegal experience, with significant time spent in a law firm environment

• Demonstrated strength in title, survey, and zoning diligence

• Strong drafting, communication, and organizational abilities

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within high-functioning legal teams
