Description:

The University of Arkansas is hiring for a Registered Nurse to join its Allergy, Immunization & Travel (AIT) Clinic team within the Patient Care Department. This role offers the opportunity to independently provide a wide range of specialized clinical services to students, faculty, and staff in a dynamic university setting.

As part of this role, the RN will:

  • Administer allergy desensitization injections and monitor for reactions

  • Deliver vaccines and injectable medications, including adult immunizations

  • Conduct tuberculosis screenings and provide follow-up care

  • Offer travel consultations with destination-specific vaccine and health guidance

  • Collaborate with public health partners and internal university departments

  • Assist in training new nursing staff and support emergency response teams

  • Cross-train to support other medical clinics and maintain accurate immunization records

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, offering a strong work-life balance.


Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in injection administration and urgent care prioritization

  • Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills

  • Experience with allergy protocols and emergency interventions

  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems

  • Knowledge of TB testing and immunization tracking

  • Ability to maintain collaborative and dependable team dynamics


Minimum Qualifications:

  • For RN I:

    • Associate Degree in Nursing

    • Active Arkansas RN license

    • CPR Certification

    • 2+ years RN experience in outpatient or ambulatory care

  • For RN II:

    • All RN I qualifications

    • Additional certification from ANCC or equivalent relevant credential

    • Specialized training in college health, primary or urgent care, or AIT-related services


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

  • Prior experience in college health or ambulatory care

  • Experience with adult immunizations and international travel consultations
