JC Herren Co, LLC, a locally owned accounting and tax firm with over 40 years of trusted service, is seeking Seasonal Tax Preparers to join their team for the upcoming 2026 tax season. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced tax professionals and individuals beginning their career in tax preparation.

The role offers flexible hours, no evenings or weekends, and a friendly, supportive work environment that values teamwork, learning, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and small business tax returns accurately and efficiently.

• Assist clients with gathering, organizing, and verifying financial documents.

• Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and offering clear explanations of tax matters.

• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all client interactions.

• Participate in tax update training provided by the company to stay informed on current tax laws.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Preferred: Background in Accounting, Tax Preparation, or a related field.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple client files efficiently within deadlines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to accuracy and professional integrity.

• Proficiency in tax software or willingness to learn.

Work Schedule & Benefits:

• Duration: February 1 – April 15, 2026.

• Hours: 20–40 hours per week.

• Schedule: Flexible, no evenings or weekends required.

• Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience, plus a performance bonus after the tax deadline.

• Training: Annual tax update training provided to support continuing education.

• Environment: Friendly, collaborative, and casual office setting in Lake St. Louis, MO.

• Employment Type: On-site only (no remote option).
