Senior Accountant

Description:

LHH is working with a well-known consumer services company in Coppell that is adding a new Senior Accountant to their team. In this role you will be responsible for GL accounting operations, along with month-end close and financial statement reporting duties, including the preparation of close packages. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience at a large company. Candidates must possess strong GL and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
• Reconcile general ledger and sub ledger accounts to ensure all transactions have been accurately recorded.
• Ensure all accounting entries are in compliance with Company Accounting Policy and GAAP.
• Implement process changes and best practices for general ledger reporting.
• Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members in delivering high quality information to business partners.
• Preparation of work papers and journal entries in a clear and concise manner.
• Provide a detailed analysis of the consolidated income statement, segment, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in preparing the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred
• 3-5 years of Accounting experience required, Big Four experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, corporate accounting policies and procedures, and SOX
• Meaningful experience working in similar role for a public company is preferred
