Senior Caregiver

Description:

MBK Senior Living is hiring a Caregiver to join their team at the Hillcrest community in Loveland, CO. As a Caregiver, you will assist residents with their daily living activities, ensuring that each resident’s dignity, safety, and comfort are maintained. This role offers an impactful and meaningful way to improve the lives of seniors, with an opportunity for both professional and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly, ensuring self-respect and confidentiality (50% of time).

• Read and follow care plans to provide appropriate care (10%).

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities, and bowel/bladder functions (20%).

• Provide assistance at mealtime, including meal selection, serving, and clearing (3%).

• Transport residents safely, including assisting with movement into/out of bed and wheelchairs (3%).

• Perform safety checks on residents (1%).

• Encourage resident participation in daily activities like bed making and laundry (1%).

• Lead and assist residents in life-enriching activities (3%).

• Complete laundry and assist with other community activities as required (1%).

• Manage oxygen tanks and concentrators as needed (1%).

• Document care and communicate any changes in resident condition (4%).

• Respond to resident alerts and emergency situations (3%).

• Ensure resident safety and comfort at all times, participating in safety drills (1%).

Non-Essential Duties:

• Maintain a positive and professional image, in accordance with MBK core values.

• Encourage teamwork and open communication with co-workers and departments.

• Demonstrate effective time management to ensure daily assignments are completed.

• Display tact and friendliness when interacting with residents, families, and guests.

• Adhere to company policies on meal breaks and rest periods.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older, or have appropriate work authorization.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Nurse’s Aide certification preferred.

• First aid certification.

• Background clearances as required.

• Health screening with negative TB test (within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment).

• Must be able to read and speak English.

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

• Must be able to lift 40+ pounds and push 150 pounds unassisted.

• Must meet state-specific regulatory requirements.
