Our team has partnered with an award-winning law firm that is looking to strengthen its Conflicts Department by hiring a Senior Conflicts Attorney. This role is ideal for a highly experienced individual who will oversee the review, identification, analysis, and resolution of potential conflicts issues related to clients, matters, and incoming lawyers firm-wide. The Senior Conflicts Attorney will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the screening requirements and conflicts align with department policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review conflict reports prepared for matters worldwide, identifying potential conflicts of interest under the New York rules and potential business conflict issues. Provide detailed analysis and advice directly to relevant attorneys.

  • Escalate potential issues to the partners and/or General Counsel’s Office and assist in obtaining any necessary waivers.

  • Collaborate with conflicts analysts on conflicts due diligence and clearing for potential and incoming laterals. Identify potential conflicts of interest and provide analysis and advice to the involved partners.

  • Answer queries from professional staff across the firm, including secretarial staff and Business Development professionals, regarding conflict checks and processes.


Requirements:

  • JD (Juris Doctor) and prior Conflicts experience are required.

  • Experience reviewing conflict reports for worldwide matters, identifying conflicts under the New York rules, and resolving potential business conflict issues.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of the rules of professional conduct.

  • Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work well under pressure.

  • Must be adaptable to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and manage a heavy workload effectively.
