Description:
The Senior Data Management Analyst will play a critical role within the Actuarial Data Management team, leveraging technical expertise to deliver innovative data solutions and enhance business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, Power BI, and data pipeline management, and will collaborate closely with business partners to design and deliver data-driven solutions. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with one day per week in the CNA Chicago office and the rest of the week working remotely.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and deliver impactful data solutions.
Build and enhance data processes, ensuring integrity, reliability, and validation of common datasets.
Use SQL and DAX to create semantic models and dashboards in Power BI to support actuarial functions across different lines of business.
Work with technology partners to define and implement future solutions for actuarial tools and processes, eliminating support issues.
Engage with data management and IT teams to ensure solutions are aligned with company strategy.
Provide production support by diagnosing and resolving issues with dashboards, datasets, and exhibits.
Update dashboards and datasets on Google BigQuery and Power BI online, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Independently identify and investigate project-related issues, recommending solutions, and documenting resolutions.
Design and create presentations, diagrams, and documentation as part of various projects.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience in designing and developing data solutions. Knowledge of R, Python, or similar languages is a plus.
Expertise in Power BI or other visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik). Advanced DAX-writing ability preferred.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and at all levels of management.
Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Knowledge of the insurance industry and actuarial data needs is an advantage but not required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Finance, Statistics, or related field.
Typically 3-5 years of relevant work experience in data management, analysis, or a related field.
Compensation:
The base salary for this role in Illinois ranges from $88,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and location.
