Description:
Senior Electrical Engineer
Are you an Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving complex building infrastructure challenges—not just designing electrical systems, but helping clients modernize entire facilities?
We're partnering with an innovative engineering consultancy that's transforming how commercial, institutional and mission-critical facilities consume, generate and manage energy. Their work combines traditional MEP engineering with cutting-edge energy infrastructure, delivering projects that improve reliability, sustainability and long-term operating performance.
This is an opportunity to work on everything from HVAC and central utility plant modernizations through to electrical distribution, renewable energy systems, battery storage, microgrids and campus-wide infrastructure upgrades—seeing projects from concept and feasibility through design and construction.
Why This Opportunity?
- Fully remote with excellent benefits
- Work on technically challenging MEP and energy infrastructure projects
- Exposure to hospitals, higher education, data centers, government and industrial facilities
- Influence projects from concept through construction
- Join a collaborative engineering team where your technical input genuinely shapes project delivery
- Excellent opportunity to continue developing into a technical leader at Executive level
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Electrical Energy Engineer, you'll become a key member of a multidisciplinary MEP and energy engineering team responsible for designing resilient, efficient building infrastructure.
Projects typically include:
- Electrical design for major HVAC and MEP system upgrades
- Central utility plant and district energy improvements
- Power distribution and electrical infrastructure modernization
- Chilled water, hot water and steam plant electrical systems
- Emergency power, standby generation and resiliency improvements
- Renewable energy integration including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and Microgrids (no prior experience needed)
- Building electrification and decarbonization initiatives
- Energy efficiency retrofits and infrastructure modernization
- Campus-wide utility and infrastructure planning
You'll also:
- Develop engineering solutions from feasibility through detailed design
- Work alongside mechanical, plumbing and controls engineers on integrated MEP projects
- Prepare technical studies and life-cycle cost analyses
- Support construction administration and commissioning activities
- Coordinate external consultants and review construction documents
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the team
- Help identify new engineering opportunities with existing and prospective clients
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven track record of consulting engineering experience
- Strong understanding of commercial building electrical systems
- Experience working on MEP projects involving HVAC infrastructure
- Knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes
- Experience producing construction documents and coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- PE License preferred (or ability to obtain)
