Scout Motors Inc., an iconic American automotive brand with roots dating back to 1960, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Brake Systems to join their Novi, Michigan team. The company is on a mission to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace, blending heritage with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

The Senior Engineer, Brake Systems, will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and launching advanced brake system components, including calipers, rotors, lines, hoses, actuation systems, and pedal assemblies for high-performance BEV/EREV vehicles. Responsibilities include releasing designs into the company system, ensuring they meet performance requirements, coordinating with suppliers for engineering and validation activities, managing prototype part design, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to maintain high quality standards. The role also involves participating in brainstorming sessions, proposing engineering improvements, staying current with industry trends, and introducing innovative concepts to enhance brake system efficiency and performance.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Engineering Technology, with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Expertise in CAD/FEA, brake system design, requirements management, system integration, and regulatory standards (FMVSS, VDA, ISO, SAE) is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to manage projects independently and excel in a cross-functional environment.

Location & Travel Requirements: This role is based in Novi, Michigan, and requires regular in-office attendance, occasional travel for events, and collaboration with colleagues in person.
