Senior Finance Executive

A high-growth, multi-entity organization is seeking an accomplished and technically rigorous Controller / VP of Finance to lead its global accounting and financial reporting functions. This executive role offers a hybrid work structure in New York, NY, combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution across complex corporate structures.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in accounting principles, audit management, and ERP systems, specifically NetSuite, and will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial controls, consolidations, reporting, and compliance across over 10 domestic and international entities. The Controller/VP Finance will also support M&A activities and treasury functions while serving as a critical liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders including the board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full GAAP compliance.

• Oversee preparation and delivery of consolidated financial statements across a multi-entity and multinational environment.

• Manage the annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and tax teams across multiple jurisdictions.

• Drive the implementation and optimization of NetSuite ERP across the company’s portfolio.

• Serve as the internal expert on technical accounting areas such as stock-based compensation, lease accounting, purchase accounting, and goodwill impairment.

• Develop comprehensive financial reporting packages for internal leadership, board members, lenders, and auditors.

• Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards and ensure organization-wide compliance.

• Direct treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, covenant compliance, and capital optimization.

• Support due diligence and integration efforts for mergers and acquisitions.

• Build strong partnerships with external advisors, including audit, tax, and valuation firms.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance; CPA preferred.

• Prior experience as a CAO, VP Finance, or Corporate Controller within a complex, global organizational structure.

• Expertise in GAAP and strong audit leadership experience.

• Proven success in multi-entity consolidations and ERP implementations (NetSuite experience preferred).

• In-depth understanding of technical accounting concepts and financial reporting standards.

• Exceptional attention to detail with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach.

• Strong communication skills and ability to interface with board-level stakeholders and external consultants.
