An excellent full time opportunity for a Senior Investment Accounting Analyst with one of our premium client in Houston, TX
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Corporate Accounting experience that includes knowledge of financial reporting and/or investments
- Proficiency with GAAP accounting standards and statutory reporting
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with SAP FI and SS&C products (CAMRA, Recon, Sylvan) is a plus
- Ability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (equivalent industry work experience will be considered)
- CPA or related certification is a plus
- Experience working for an external audit/accounting firm is a plus
- must be living in the Houston area and/or willing to relocate, if located outside of the Houston area (if needed, relo assistance will be considered on an individual basis)
Responsibilities:
- Oversee organizational investments that may include (Fixed income, bonds, stock options, equities, and private placements)
- Ensure timely settlement of trades
- Prepare, review, and/or analyze GAAP and statutory financial information related to the company’s fixed income, equity, derivate, and alternative investments for internal and external reporting
- Manage month end reporting, ensuring timely closing of the investment accounting sub ledger
- Actively assess alternative investment options that include coordinating with our third-party service provider, ensuring journals are complete and accurate
- Perform accounting research as required for new investments, accounting standard updates, and changes
- Aptitude to provide innovative tactics concerning hedging strategies
- Execution of operational processes in the subledger that support derivative accounting
- Perform control functions to safeguard compliance
