Description:

First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck, a congregation grounded in the belief that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, adheres to the doctrinal statement of the "Baptist Faith and Message" (Southern Baptist Convention, 2000). The church is united as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, committed to sharing the gospel and serving the community through the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

The Senior Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of the church, providing biblical teaching, pastoral care, and administrative leadership. Working in close collaboration with deacons, committees, and church staff, the pastor will lead the congregation in fulfilling its mission, fostering spiritual growth, and extending outreach efforts to the local community and beyond.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the church in the achievement of its mission through vision casting, planning, and execution of ministry programs.

• Proclaiming the gospel to both believers and unbelievers with clarity, conviction, and biblical integrity.

• Providing pastoral care to church members and the wider community, including visiting the sick, bereaved, and those in need.

• Planning and conducting worship services, preparing and delivering sermons, and administering ordinances such as the Lord’s Supper and baptism.

• Offering spiritual counseling, officiating weddings and funerals, and guiding individuals through life’s spiritual milestones.

• Overseeing evangelistic outreach, discipleship, and community engagement initiatives.

• Coordinating and training church leaders, officers, and committees to enhance ministry effectiveness.

• Cooperating with associational, state, and national denominational leaders in shared ministry efforts.

• Serving as the church moderator and ensuring smooth church governance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of three years pastoral experience.

• Seminary degree from a reputable, conservative theological institution (preferred).

• Strong commitment to personal spiritual growth, daily prayer, and biblical study.

• Demonstrated ability to lead worship, teach Scripture, and shepherd a congregation in accordance with biblical principles.

• Willingness to work closely with church leadership and engage actively with the community.

• Adherence to the doctrines and values of the Southern Baptist Convention.
