Senior Research Associate

 

Description:

We are actively seeking a Senior Research Associate to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Cambridge, MA (02139). This is a 6+ month W2 contract role (non-IT) offering competitive hourly pay and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cell therapy research.

The successful candidate will independently design and execute in vitro experiments for screening, optimization, and validation of cell therapy products. Responsibilities include the generation and characterization of novel cell therapies and conducting complex lab-based research assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform in vitro experiments, including assay optimization and validation.

  • Apply aseptic cell culture techniques on tumor cells and immune effector cell types (T cells, NK cells, etc.), including thawing, passaging, counting, and banking.

  • Execute cytotoxicity and flow cytometry assays using automated systems and instruments such as Incucyte, Symphony, and Luminex.

  • Utilize liquid handling automation and 384-well formats for high-throughput screening.

  • Analyze data using software such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, and FlowJo.

  • Present experimental results and insights to internal stakeholders and contribute to strategic research discussions.

  • Ensure adherence to lab documentation standards and data quality compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a scientific discipline with 4+ years of relevant industry/lab experience OR

  • MS degree in a scientific discipline with 1+ years of experience

  • Strong hands-on experience in cell culture, in vitro assays, and flow cytometry

  • Familiarity with automated lab equipment and relevant software for data analysis

  • Excellent communication and data interpretation skills

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation practices
