Senior Software Engineer

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced software solutions in a highly agile, cloud-native environment. The successful candidate will work on a W2 basis and play a pivotal role in building secure and scalable applications in AWS. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside brilliant developers, solving technical challenges and driving innovation while mentoring junior team members.

As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for creating performant, containerized applications using AWS EKS, transitioning Python-based services into Golang, and operating across a full DevOps ecosystem including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. This position is geared toward someone with a strong sense of ownership, a passion for modern technologies, and an appetite for mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative and performant applications tailored for AWS EKS environments.

• Modify existing Python microservices and re-engineer them into Golang-based solutions.

• Work across a full cloud and DevOps stack including AWS IAM, networking, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, GitOps, and ArgoCD.

• Collaborate with automation, QA, and DevOps professionals to ensure efficient CI/CD pipelines.

• Act as a senior/principal consultant, mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Contribute to secure and scalable software development practices in a fast-paced, agile setting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering.

• Deep knowledge of AWS services, especially IAM, networking, and containerized deployments.

• Proficient in both Python and Golang development.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, CloudFormation, GitOps, and ArgoCD.

• Strong mentoring and leadership abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $70–$75 (approx. $12,133–$13,000 monthly)
