Social Media Manager

Description:

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Social Media Manager in the Office of Communications. The Social Media Manager will help manage the global social media presence, serve as overall community manager, and work collaboratively across the university to maximize visibility online by telling a story. Work on platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube while continuously testing and analyzing content performance to maximize social media engagement.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall UMGC social media community management. Ensures that incoming messages for UMGC are addressed appropriately and assigned to subject matter experts, when needed.
• Works with Senior Director of Social Media to establish critical KPIs and creates regular social media reports for different departments across the university.
• Works collaboratively with social media team members to create and curate engaging social media content that tells the UMGC story.
• Tracks social media executions by competitors and keeps up with current social media trends.
• Assists Senior Director of Social Media with management of employee advocacy platform.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Five years of social media management experience. Experience using Sprout Social or other social media management platform. Experience with social media community management and online crisis management. Experience executing social media campaigns.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to manage all social media for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Able to work collaboratively to help execute social media strategy, plans, and content.
