EQuIS is the premier environmental and geotechnical data management system in the world. EQuIS is used by many government agencies, industrial property owners, over 300 consultants, and over 400 analytical labs around the world. Many US EPA regions, state regulatory agencies, and other government organizations use EQuIS. EQuIS interfaces with ArcGIS for advanced environmental decision support and data analysis. Many other software companies link with EQuIS.

As a Software Technologist I, you are a member of a support team within the EarthSoft Support Group with minimal experience. You learn your team’s assigned products and assist in providing exceptional technical support to customers using those products. Your team’s success is measured in overall client satisfaction with, and inherent value of, those products. Your individual success is as a part of the team; individual team members are not successful if the team fails to meet its goals.

Responsibilities (what you do):

  • Actively participate in team communication/knowledge sharing during team meetings.
  • Assist your team in providing product technical support.
  • Assist with the creation of thorough ticket summaries, user stories, and bugs.
  • Attend and observe client meetings.
  • Escalate tickets to other team members per standard operating procedures.
  • Review and contribute to forum posts (to be posted by other team members).
  • Develop knowledge in features and functionality of one or more of your team’s EQuIS products.
  • Learn the environmental data industry and EarthSoft’s clients.
  • Learn EarthSoft’s product development lifecycle process.
  • Coordinate and collaborate amongst various EarthSoft departments and groups.

Requirements (what you need/have):

  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Experience with Office 365 and customer support of software/web applications.
  • A basic understanding of environmental data, data management, and databases is helpful.
  • Academic or work experience in STEM fields (e.g., Chemistry, Environmental, or Geological Sciences (or similar), Computer Science, Engineering, or Geography).
