Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain operational components in private on-prem clouds such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Analyze processes to create and enhance operational workflows
- Be able to work closely with operational teams to build /improve cloud infrastructure
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and trending operational tools in the cloud
- Respond to alerts; troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges
- Perform automating using infrastructure as a code
- Automate self-provisioning of resources and services for a Private Cloud Environment
- Configure and deploy containerized micro-service components
- Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis
- Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support
Requirements
- 2+ years of systems engineering experience
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows or Linux environments
- Experience working in private on-prem cloud environments running VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Ability to create, edit, and maintain scripting code from Bash, Powershell, Python, and Javascript for infrastructure configuration and building
- Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible
- Understanding of build/automation systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform and Packer
- Ability to automate workflows via scripting for self service
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field
Recommended Qualifications
- Work experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Ability to share your expertise through documentation
- Experience working with APIs (REST, SOAP)
- Familiarity with ServiceNow
- Experience with private cloud platforms such as VMware VCF Automation or Morpheus
