Tax Attorney

Simmons & Hanbury is seeking an experienced U.S. Tax Attorney on behalf of a global trading firm for a highly specialized role focused on tax structuring and advisory matters. The selected candidate will play a central role in managing tax and structural aspects of internal restructurings, including investment structures for senior individuals within the group, acquisitions, dispositions, and complex corporate transactions related to the firm’s global operations.

In this role, you will collaborate extensively with non-tax professionals across the organization to deliver strategic structuring and advisory solutions directly tied to the firm’s trading activities. This is a dynamic position offering exposure to high-level international transactions and cross-border tax issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage tax and related structural aspects of internal restructurings, acquisitions, and dispositions.

• Advise on investment structures for senior stakeholders within the group.

• Provide tax structuring support for the firm’s trading activities.

• Collaborate with global tax and non-tax professionals across multiple disciplines.

• Ensure compliance with complex tax regulations while optimizing transaction structures.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years of relevant experience at a top law firm or financial institution.

• Strong expertise in tax transaction structuring; prior in-house experience advantageous.

• Background in the taxation of financial products and/or international tax issues preferred.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.

• Fluency in English is required.
