Tax Manager

A growing and well-established accounting and auditing services firm based in Albany, NY is looking to hire a skilled and experienced Tax Manager with expertise in individual taxation, particularly in handling 1040 returns. The firm provides comprehensive financial services, including business advisory, individual accounting, and pension plan services, and is seeking a dynamic team member to lead client engagements and manage the tax preparation process.

This is an on-site full-time role, ideal for candidates who are either based in Albany or willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:
🔸 Review and oversee the preparation of individual income tax returns (1040)
🔸 Manage client engagements and maintain strong client relationships
🔸 Participate in client meetings to answer queries, provide guidance, and review returns
🔸 Conduct tax research and assist in strategic tax planning discussions
🔸 Review tax workpapers and ensure accuracy and compliance for technically complex returns
🔸 Supervise, coach, and mentor junior tax professionals to ensure high performance and growth
🔸 Conduct internal training sessions on tax law updates and preparation strategies

Qualifications:
✔ Minimum 3 years of experience in Tax Management
✔ Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in individual tax return preparation and review (1040)
✔ Demonstrated leadership in coaching and supervising other tax professionals
✔ Must hold a current CPA or EA license
✔ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
✔ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple engagements
