Description:
Seeking a Tool Engineer with 7 or more years of relevant experience in prototype tool and fixture development.
The role focuses on the layout, construction, testing, evaluation, and documentation of prototype printed circuit boards, tools, fixtures, breadboards, and hybrid assemblies.
The engineer will support feasibility studies, design verification activities, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and engineering analysis.
The position requires strong electrical or electronic engineering knowledge and experience working within regulated manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lay out and construct prototype tools and fixtures required for engineering development activities.
- Conduct feasibility evaluations, functional testing, measurements, and technical analyses.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation activities on breadboards, hybrid assemblies, and related prototypes.
- Conduct measurements specified in design verification plans and document and tabulate test results.
- Prepare engineering test reports and provide technical information to support management decision making.
- Document custom tools using specifications, schematics, and mechanical layouts.
- Support document control and tool release activities.
- Develop new design features as part of existing systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, contractors, vendors, and other cross functional teams.
- Follow applicable FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, operating procedures, processes, and company policies.
- Manage multiple assignments while maintaining strong organization, follow up, attention to detail, and timely completion of deliverables.
- Travel approximately 10 percent, including international travel.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 7 or more years of relevant professional experience in tool engineering, prototype development, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Hands on experience with prototype printed circuit board layout, construction, and evaluation.
- Experience developing and constructing prototype tools and fixtures.
- Experience with troubleshooting and fault isolation of breadboards, hybrid assemblies, or similar electronic systems.
- Experience conducting testing, measurements, feasibility evaluations, and engineering analysis.
- Experience preparing engineering test reports and documenting technical results.
- Experience creating specifications, schematics, and mechanical layouts for custom tools.
