Warranty Technician

Description:

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, value-added components, and construction services, is seeking a Warranty Technician to handle construction service and product issues on customer sites. This role involves investigating, diagnosing, and resolving product or workmanship concerns quickly and cost-effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

As a Warranty Technician, you will work with a wide range of products, including exterior doors, interior doors, trim, and hardware, and will play a key role in ensuring customer confidence in Builders FirstSource products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and assess workmanship and product conditions on-site based on customer concerns.

• Report findings to the Customer Service team and recommend repair or replacement of defective products based on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Negotiate and approve third-party repairs or adjustments, and inspect completed work for adherence to quality standards.

• Plan and manage work schedules to meet productivity goals (daily, weekly, or project-based).

• Follow all safety procedures and attend periodic safety meetings; suggest improvements where applicable.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent education and experience.

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.

• Basic math and measurement skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

• Valid driver’s license is required.

• Strong attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed both in typical office settings and on outdoor customer construction sites, exposed to weather variations and uneven terrain.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally.

• Job involves driving to customer locations regularly.
