Accounting Manager

Valiant Residential, a leading and award-winning property management firm with over 37 years of industry presence, is hiring a Property Accounting Manager to join their Dallas office. This is a key leadership role, overseeing a team of Financial Accountants and serving as the primary liaison between the accounting and operations departments, as well as with third-party clients.

The Accounting Manager will ensure the timely and accurate financial closing of property accounts, process weekly payables, manage ACH and wire transactions, and supervise the onboarding of new clients. In addition to team leadership, the manager will be expected to drive process improvements, handle audit documentation, and coordinate year-end financials for tax compliance.

This role requires a professional with strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of navigating high-pressure environments and strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of GAAP, hands-on experience with Yardi or similar accounting systems, and strong technical capabilities in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage Financial Accountants and departmental objectives

• Ensure monthly financial closing deadlines are met with accurate reporting

• Act as the key contact for third-party clients and operations coordination

• Monitor and adjust revenue and expense activities for properties

• Oversee weekly property payable processing and bank transactions

• Assist with budgeting, onboarding/offboarding of properties, and tax filings

• Lead preparation of year-end financial reports and manage audit documentation

• Identify and implement workflow/process improvements

• Participate in special accounting and financial projects as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)

• CPA certification (preferred)

• Minimum 5–6 years of experience in property management and accounting

• Multifamily or commercial property accounting experience

• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)

• Experience with Yardi or equivalent accounting software

• Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills

• Must be team-oriented with attention to detail

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds

• Primarily office-based with standard physical activities such as typing, sitting, and walking

• Requires consistent mental and visual attention

• Quiet to moderate noise levels depending on location
