Description:
As an Assembly Technician on our Controller Assembly team, you will assemble, wire, test and inspect hot runner controllers used in industry-leading injection molding systems. Working from electrical schematics, assembly drawings, work instructions and standardized procedures, you will help build high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who enjoy working with tools, following an established process and building highly complex equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings and work instructions to assemble and wire hot runner controllers.
- Perform wiring, installation and assembly of controllers.
- Conduct electrical and functional testing of completed systems to verify proper operation.
- Use hand tools, power tools and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect completed assemblies, wiring, labels and components to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
- Record production and quality data accurately.
- Troubleshoot assembly, wiring or testing issues and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, organized and safe condition.
- Communicate quality, equipment or assembly concerns to supervisors and team members.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production, quality and delivery objectives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and basic assembly equipment
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions and electrical schematics
- Understanding of basic electrical principles
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to identify, read and verify small labels, markings, wiring details and component information
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Understand, write, and speak basic and technical English
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, electrical assembly, maintenance, electronics assembly, industrial trades or related technical fields
- Experience performing electrical wiring or panel assembly
- Experience using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters
- Experience troubleshooting electrical or electromechanical systems
- Technical education, vocational training, electronics training or manufacturing certificate
- Ability to work a variety of shifts if required
