Athletic Strength & Conditioning Coach

 

Description:

The University of Cincinnati (UC) is seeking a full-time Athletic Strength & Conditioning Coach within its Department of Athletics to support the physical development and performance of student-athletes. As a key member of the Bearcats Athletics staff, the selected candidate will work directly with one or more of UC’s 18 varsity sports programs, helping to drive success through elite strength and conditioning programming.

This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a high-level NCAA Division I athletics program while aligning with UC’s mission of student-athlete development, academic success, and community impact. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams

  • Teach safe and effective training techniques for injury prevention and performance enhancement

  • Monitor weight room operations and enforce safety procedures

  • Collaborate with Registered Dietitians and Athletic Trainers on holistic athlete wellness and rehabilitation plans

  • Assist with other athletic teams and support non-assigned programs as needed

  • May supervise and mentor junior staff

  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA, university, and departmental rules and regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be current and maintained)

  • Certification from a nationally accredited strength and conditioning body (e.g., CSCS or SCCC)

Additional Considerations:

  • Availability for weekend hours and travel with athletic teams

  • Previous experience in collegiate or professional strength and conditioning

  • Physical requirements include frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching
