Description:

City National Bank of Florida is seeking a BSA Monitoring Analyst to join its compliance team in Miami, FL. This role is vital for ensuring adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and OFAC requirements through careful monitoring, analysis, and reporting of suspicious activities. The analyst will serve as an integral part of the bank’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting key risk management initiatives.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving monthly alerts generated by the AML monitoring systems, ensuring that all cases are analyzed, documented, and escalated promptly in accordance with regulatory deadlines. They will also prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) accurately and efficiently for management review. The analyst will interact with account officers and department heads to gather necessary documentation and explanations regarding account activities and patterns.

Additionally, this role involves supporting audits and regulatory examinations by providing necessary documentation and assistance to the FIU Manager or Team Lead. The analyst will also contribute to ongoing BSA/AML-related projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth coordination with cross-functional teams. The position requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail to uphold the highest compliance standards within the bank’s operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough analysis of alerts and account activity for potential suspicious transactions.

  • Communicating with internal stakeholders to obtain clarification and supporting documentation.

  • Preparing accurate and timely SARs for management review.

  • Assisting with regulatory audits and compliance examinations.

  • Maintaining awareness of the latest developments in BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations.

  • Supporting other analysts during absences and contributing to departmental projects.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in BSA/AML compliance, monitoring, or related financial investigation roles.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel with Pivot Tables), banking systems, Hyland Web Director, and BI tools.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data trends and identify suspicious activities.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy and professionalism.

  • Other Attributes: High level of flexibility, urgency, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
