We are seeking a Business Development Associate to join our Phoenix, Arizona office team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the J.S. Held team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Business Development Associates such as assisting practice leads in qualifying marketing and business development generated leads to ensure the growth of the J.S. Held pipeline. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of assisting with all aspects of the sale cycle but to coordinate with internal and external parties to achieve revenue growth and retention goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage sales leads (existing and new contacts) using defined methodologies (phone, e-mail, video) and guidelines to qualify leads for opportunities.
  • Arrange business meetings with key targets and prospective clients.
  • Identify opportunities for practitioners to develop new relationships with key targets.
  • Work with corporate marketing to develop materials that highlight Corporate Finance, service offerings and drive the J.S. Held brand.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer trends.
  • Actively manage assigned leads, including proactive client communication, to ensure progressive movement through the sales pipeline.
  • Qualifying new opportunities through outbound leads to follow up.
  • Participate in the preparation of responses to RFPs, RFQs, or RFRs.
  • Research and gather information on leads and accounts to identify key players and appropriate contacts.
  • Qualify leads and perform outbound campaigns around sectors, specific events, or targets to build BD pipeline.
  • Assist account leads with account strategy development by understanding account/client revenue history and maintaining institutional knowledge to build out account plans and relationship maps.
  • Promptly follow up and qualify marketing-generated inquiries.
  • Document all activities and interactions in CRM.
  • Generate necessary documentation and related communications to support assigned leads, including regular reporting and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Adhere to Account Management principles and guidelines as defined by management, including the number (and type) of client touches, CRM documentation, and feedback loops to internal teams.
  • Comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with BD partners, and qualifying prospects/leads.
