Business Development Intern

 

Description:

As a Business Development Intern at ZeroWheel, you will support a broad range of strategic initiatives across sales, marketing, and operations. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to a growing fitness startup, while enabling you to contribute meaningfully to our continued success.

 

You will work closely with the COO, Operations Manager, and other team members to analyze and assess existing sales strategies, pipeline opportunities, and develop new industry partnerships; assess existing marketing strategies, work with external marketing consulting teams, and develop marketing campaigns; and increase brand awareness through personal outreach and a physical presence at trade shows.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Sales Strategy & Pipeline Development – Own key components of the outbound sales process, including identifying and qualifying new leads, building and managing prospect lists, and executing targeted outreach campaigns. Analyze pipeline performance and recommend strategies to accelerate deal flow and conversion.
  • Business Development & Partnerships – Proactively identify, research, and pursue new B2B partnership opportunities across fitness, athletics, and enterprise wellness sectors. Develop outreach strategies, initiate conversations with prospective partners, and help move opportunities toward close.
  • B2B Campaign Ownership – Lead the development and execution of B2B campaigns, including crafting proposals, writing high-impact outreach, and creating sales materials. Continuously iterate on messaging and positioning based on performance data and market feedback.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy – Conduct in-depth competitive and market analysis to evaluate how leading fitness and equipment companies approach B2B sales. Translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations that shape ZeroWheel’s go-to-market strategy.
  • Customer Insights & Experience Optimization – Redesign and implement customer feedback systems to better capture B2B insights. Analyze results to inform sales strategy, improve customer experience, and strengthen retention and expansion efforts.
  • Strategic Initiatives & Cross-Functional Leadership – Take ownership of high-impact, cross-functional projects, working directly with leadership to drive initiatives forward across sales, marketing, and operations.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must be at least 18-years of age.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or must have graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel to attend on-site initiatives and trade shows.
