Description:
The Business Systems Analyst Manager (BSAM) plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic integration of business processes with IT solutions to enhance organizational performance. This leadership position involves managing a team of business systems analysts, spearheading complex projects, performing advanced business analysis, and developing comprehensive specifications for IT systems. The BSAM collaborates closely with senior stakeholders across various departments to ensure IT systems align with business goals and deliver optimal value.
Responsibilities:
BA Practice & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Systems Analysts, fostering strong core BA competencies and career growth.
- Define and implement standard BA frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (requirements management, documentation standards, elicitation techniques, traceability).
- Allocate BA resources effectively across initiatives and ensure consistent, high‑quality analysis outcomes.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and development planning with a focus on BA skill progression.
Advanced Business Analysis & Requirements Strategy
- Oversee analysis of complex business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Guide teams in advanced requirements elicitation and validation techniques (workshops, interviews, big‑room planning).
- Ensure business requirements are translated into clear functional and non‑functional specifications that are ready for delivery teams.
- Establish and govern the use of BA artifacts (process flows, BPMN, data flows, user stories, use cases).
Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as a senior BA partner to business leaders, ensuring requirements align to strategic goals.
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and scope discipline.
- Communicate analysis outcomes, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior audiences.
Quality, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure requirements quality and traceability through development, testing, and UAT.
- Oversee feasibility analysis, cost/benefit assessments, and business case development.
- Continuously improve BA processes, tools, and templates based on feedback and outcomes.
- Stay current on BA best practices, tools, and industry trends, applying them to strengthen the BA function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- 10+ years as a Business Systems Analyst or equivalent
