Description:
BMO Capital Markets, a leading full-service financial services provider, is seeking a Vice President - CM Governance Specialist to ensure transparent, compliant, and effective governance structures across Capital Markets operations. This role focuses on governance framework development, risk management, compliance oversight, and strategic stakeholder engagement, supporting accountable leadership and regulatory adherence.
Governance Structure and Policy Oversight:
Develop and maintain governance frameworks for Capital Markets and related legal entities; update policies to reflect legal and regulatory changes; recommend best practices and identify efficiency opportunities.
Risk Management:
Design risk governance frameworks aligned with enterprise risk requirements; monitor compliance and escalate issues appropriately; oversee financial and non-financial risk identification, assessment, and reporting.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
Collaborate with legal, finance, and other departments to monitor compliance risks; manage internal and external governance audits.
Executive Support:
Assist CM executives in oversight responsibilities; prepare clear presentations for committees and boards on governance, risk, and compliance matters.
Performance Monitoring and Accountability:
Track key initiatives’ performance; ensure action plans for risk management are developed and followed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Support communication to keep stakeholders informed about governance, risk, compliance, regulatory expectations, and audit activities.
Training and Awareness:
Develop programs to increase employee and leadership awareness of governance and risk management; promote an ethical culture.
Change Management:
Assess and adjust governance frameworks in response to new initiatives and regulatory changes.
Proven experience in governance, risk management, compliance, business management, or related fields.
Strong understanding of governance principles and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with attention to operational details.
High integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
Primarily office-based with occasional travel to support governance activities.
Salary range for Chicago: $100,000 - $140,000 USD.
Overall pay range for the role: $72,500 - $134,500 (varies by location, experience, skills).
Compensation package may include performance incentives, discretionary bonuses, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, retirement savings plans, and other benefits.
