Description:

A prestigious and well-established cardiology group in Gulfport, Mississippi is actively seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join their growing cardiovascular program. This is a prime opportunity to become part of a high-functioning team of 14 cardiologists, a seasoned cardiovascular surgeon, and other experienced medical professionals delivering advanced cardiac and thoracic care in a coastal community.

The incoming surgeon will be the second Cardiothoracic Surgeon, supporting the expansion of a program that has seen considerable procedural volume growth and technological advancement. This role offers a light 1:2 call schedule, making it ideal for maintaining a work-life balance while working in a thriving clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of cardiothoracic procedures, including CABG, valvular surgeries, aortic bypass grafting, and thoracic surgeries.

  • Participate in advanced interventions like TAVR (100+ annually), LAAO, and coronary artery catheterizations.

  • Contribute to the continued development of a growing cardiovascular program that serves as a designated STEMI receiving center.

State-of-the-Art Facilities Include:

  • Level III Neonatal ICU (the only one in the region)

  • Mississippi’s first nationally certified Primary Stroke Center

  • CyberKnife® and da Vinci® Xi™ Robotic Surgery Systems

  • Fully integrated electronic medical records and 3D imaging

Program Growth:

  • Currently: 17 cardiologists and 1 electrophysiologist

  • 2 additional cardiologists set to join soon

  • One existing Cardiothoracic Surgeon currently managing all surgical needs
