• BS in Biology or relevant field and at least 1 year with experience in palaeontology research or collections.
• Attention to detail
• English proficiency
• Experience working on a diverse team
• Ability to work independently

Bell Museum

This is a temp casual position

This position is not eligible for benefits.

Daily

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep lab and offices
• Wash glassware, put away any dry glassware
• Supervise collection personnel and volunteers
• Maintain work flow for curating specimens, including alcohol transfers, label printing,

photography and shelving specimens

• Package and send out loans
• Unpack and shelve returned loans
• File any paperwork associated with collection

Weekly

• Track and maintain stocks of ethanol, formalin, jars, lids, labels and other supplies
• Check and fill out forms at eye-wash station
• Check and fill out forms in chemical storage areas
• Package waste chemicals and call for removal
• Prepare specimens for Friday ID workshop
• Empty freezer of discarded specimens
• Maintain fluid levels in jars
• Develop and work on a curatorial project for the semester
