Description:
We are seeking a Change Order Engineer to join one of the top construction management firms on a mega-project in the Albany, NY area. The Change Order Engineer will be mainly responsible for preparing, submitting, and defending change orders on this project.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Support cost control team in the maintenance of project/program budgets and forecasts.
- Assist the project team in the generation of weekly, monthly, and special cost reports in a timely manner for the client and program leadership to monitor progress and status of project.
- Generate detailed independent cost estimates, determining the cost of each item from prior work experience and current estimating standards and databases.
- Perform quality control on cost estimates and proposals generated by third parties, to determine if there are irregularities in scope, cost, or schedule.
- Provide support in change management and price negotiations.
- Review specifications, drawings, and sketches to generate quantities and cost information for materials, equipment, and services for contract modifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Finance, Business, Engineering or related degree.
- 3-7 years of relevant construction experience working on complex projects.
- Strong experience with preparing, submitting, and defending change orders.
- Excellent math skills.
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products. Experience with Clearstory or PMWeb is preferred but not required.
