A premier law firm in Providence, Rhode Island, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its elite team. This firm, consisting of approximately 40 attorneys, is recognized for its high-stakes, complex commercial litigation work, including a recent $8M shareholder dispute settlement. The position offers hybrid flexibility (3 days in-office), a diverse caseload spanning commercial litigation and trusts & estates, and a culture centered on collaboration and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Litigation Drafting: Prepare motions and pleadings for $2M–$15M commercial litigation cases, including breach of contract and fiduciary duty matters.

• Legal Research: Analyze Rhode Island Business Corporation Law and trust regulations to support case development.

• Depositions & Trial Prep: Draft deposition outlines for corporate clients, prepare trial exhibits, and organize witness lists for both commercial and probate cases.

• Trusts & Estates: Draft trust agreements ensuring compliance with Rhode Island probate statutes.

• Settlement Negotiation: Draft memoranda to facilitate multi-party settlement agreements.

Candidate Attributes:

• Strong legal drafting, research, and communication skills

• Experience or strong interest in both business litigation and trusts & estates
