Development Associate

 

Description:

Fairfield Museum and History Center is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Development Associate to support its fundraising operations. This is a temporary, part-time position working 21 hours per week through June 26, 2026, with the potential for extension. The role will directly report to the Executive Director and play a vital part in maintaining and enhancing donor relations, supporting events, and strengthening administrative processes that sustain the Museum's mission.

Fairfield Museum is a vibrant and award-winning educational institution welcoming over 30,000 visitors annually and serving more than 4,000 students. Its mission is to inspire civic engagement by celebrating the rich and diverse history of the region and its people.


Key Responsibilities:

Development Administration:

  • Process and track donor contributions, draft acknowledgments and correspondence, and maintain accurate financial and donor records.

  • Maintain and update the donor CRM system (Neon One), enter gifts and memberships, and coordinate with the bookkeeper for donation reconciliation.

  • Manage production and distribution of fundraising appeals, membership renewals, and announcements.

  • Oversee the operation of the online donation platform in collaboration with the website manager.

  • Generate reports to analyze giving trends and donor engagement.

  • Support and coordinate donor recognition events and special fundraising events.

Executive Assistance:

  • Assist the Executive Director with preparation of fundraising materials, reports, and board meeting documentation.

  • Schedule meetings for the Board and Executive Director.

  • Take and prepare minutes for board and committee meetings.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2–3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or small business office management.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Suite, and mail merge.

  • Experience with donor databases, preferably Neon One, or ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Energetic, collaborative, and team-focused attitude.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • $30/hour, part-time (21 hours/week)
