Financial Controller

As the Financial Controller, you will be entrusted with the comprehensive oversight of the firm’s financial health, playing a pivotal role in supporting executive decisions with accurate reporting and strategic financial insights. This is a leadership role requiring hands-on expertise in job costing, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance, specifically tailored to a dynamic construction project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise all accounting operations: accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

• Prepare and manage budgets and detailed job cost reports for multiple active construction projects.

• Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and ensure compliance.

• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance reports.

• Lead cash flow planning efforts and deliver accurate forecasting with variance analysis.

• Collaborate with project managers to ensure budget adherence and accurate financial tracking.

• Manage external audits and maintain communication with banks, insurance brokers, and accountants.

• Ensure timely tax filings and adherence to all applicable financial regulations.

• Continuously evaluate and refine financial software, systems, and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of senior-level financial or accounting experience, preferably in construction or real estate development.

• Expertise in project-based accounting, draw schedules, and job costing.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and standard financial reporting tools.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and ethical.

• Strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a collaborative work ethic.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-moving and team-centric environment.
