Description:
The Information Specialist in the Financial Aid Office will serve as the primary contact for students and parents, providing accurate, timely, and detailed information regarding financial aid packages, federal requirements, application processes, disbursements, and more. This role involves processing short-term loans, scheduling appointments with counselors, and accepting scholarship and agency funds.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for students and parents regarding financial aid information.
Provide detailed guidance on the status of aid packages, federal aid requirements, and the application process.
Process and approve short-term loans.
Schedule counseling appointments and accept scholarship or agency funds.
Respond to phone calls and face-to-face inquiries in a friendly, professional manner.
Maintain and reconcile complex records and filing systems.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Four years of general office experience or equivalent combination of education and office experience.
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to handle high volumes of inquiries, proficiency in office software (word processing, spreadsheets, data entry), and experience in maintaining filing systems.
