Loan Documentation And Funding Specialist

Description:

Midland States Bank is seeking a Loan Documentation and Funding Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of quality loan documentation, overseeing the centralized funding, and performing quality control/audit functions for consumer, small business, and commercial loans. The role ensures the bank adheres to loan policies and guidelines while meeting legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Primary Accountabilities:

• Receive, validate, and complete complex loan documentation, funding, and quality control research requests

• Prepare timely and accurate consumer/commercial loan documents in accordance with the credit approval, bank policy, and regulatory guidelines

• Perform a check on loan documents created by other Loan Documentation Specialists before release to the Markets

• Escalate questionable transactions to management and verify data in the bank’s core application

• Manage loan funds distribution and collateral perfection on Consumer and Commercial Loans

• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements

• Identify and electronically pull documents as needed from the bank’s underwriting platforms

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers and business partners

• Train new team members and assist in the development and execution of onboarding and cross-training plans

• Contribute to a positive team culture and ensure collaboration among team members

Position Qualifications:

• Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of relevant banking experience or knowledge within a specific service/product line

• Practical experience in loan documentation, loan compliance, or lending is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting Pay: $20-$24/hour
